Hey, Welcome To My Website. Are You Sure About This?

*Taps Mic...Is This Thing On?
Here we go. Tell me, how exactly does one fill out this section without it sounding like a personal ad? I’m married and not looking for love, although I suppose this is my polite plea for you to realize that I’m relatable and likable enough to make you want to hang out with me. Even if it’s just virtually. So maybe this is a personal ad. Either way, here we go.
Hi. Jennifer here. I’m a 38-year-old “non-writer,” which is code for I write with my heart, not according to the rules I probably should have mastered in elementary school. I enjoy making people smile and laugh through words, even if those words are occasionally spelled wrong or arranged questionably.
I make mistakes often. I also spend a lot of time worrying about making mistakes before they even happen, which makes no sense, but here we are. Over time, I’ve learned to find the joy, and sometimes the humor, in being imperfect.
I live in the great state of Texas, but I was born and raised in the equally great state of Indiana. To Texans, that makes me a Yankee. In reality, it means "I grew up in an Indiana town with a good-lookin' momma who never was around, but I grew up tall and I grew up right, with them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights..." except my mom, while good looking was ALWAYS around (dad on the other hand is a different story) I am of average height, and I kept mostly to myself, and didn’t meet “that Indiana boy” until college.
Speaking of that Indiana boy, I’ve been married to the love of my life, Matthew, for almost 16 years. He’s a pilot and, while occasionally flighty, he keeps me grounded. (Yes, the puns are already happening.) Our family consists of the two of us and our dogs, Lucy and Bailey. God blessed us with a beautiful daughter, Addison Kay, in 2025, and soon after took her home to heaven. We’re grateful for the two hours we had with her, even though it was nowhere near enough time.
As for hobbies, I’m an avid baseball fan. I’ve been hooked since 1996, when my grandfather took me to Wrigley Field for the first time. Most people think I’m sweet, polite, and maybe even a little sheltered. Those people have clearly never been to a baseball game with me. I also listen to music more than I listen to the rational thoughts in my head, which is fine, because I pay more than enough attention to the irrational ones. My taste ranges from 60s, 70s, and 80s classics to yacht rock and indie folk, often all within the same hour.
This is probably more than enough information about me for now. Rest assured, if you stick around long enough and read enough of my blog posts, you’ll know far more than you ever intended to.
-Jennifer
